Lawrence Okolie proved his power matched his confidence, with what Eddie Hearn described as a ‘devastating knockout’, that only took 20 seconds.
At the Manchester Arena, on the undercard of Jorge Linares’ points victory over Anthony Crolla, Lawrence Okolie, a former Olympian and European Amateur Champion made his professional Cruiserweight debut against George Cave. Although Okolie’s fight was delayed due to the length of the previous bouts, Lawrence handled the delay with journeyed professionalism despite his young years in boxing, at only 24-years-old and making his debut. Lawrence emphatically made short work of Cave and set his sights on fighting as much as soon and as much as possible.

It looks like Okolie will now be added to the Bundercard of Anthony Joshua’s world heavyweight title showdown against Wladimir Klitschko on April 29, which is set to take place in front of 90,000 fans.
Okolie previously said:
“I want to dominate the division. I’m not afraid to let the other cruiserweights know that I’m here and I am coming for them,”
Okolie transformation has been remarkable; from boxing for weight loss, to make it into the Great Britain team, then qualifying for the Olympics in Brazil and now turning Professional signed to Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing team.
