Bill Cosby Rape Case Judge Declares Mistrial

After approximately 53 hours of deliberations in Norristown, Pennsylvania, a US judge has declared a mistrial in the Bill Cosby sex assault case after the jury remained deadlocked. Some of Bill Cosby’s fans are seeing this as a victory and other people are seeing this as an example of just how hard it is for a woman to prove she has been sexually assaulted. However, prosecutors believe they will seek a retrial as soon as possible.

The BBC has reported that seven men and five women were unable to reach a unanimous decision




Mr Cosby, 79, is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004. Cosby and hi lawyers had argued the sex was consensual.

Bill Cosby comedian and actor, could now face new proceedings. The prosecution has already said they are pursuing a fresh trial.

However today, Cosby walks away from court a free man, but

Dozens of women have said he assaulted them, but statutes of limitation rules mean he was allowed to be tried for Ms Constand’s allegation only.
